Phoenix Bound?
Spring Break and Spring Training is attracting many of you to Arizona. Here is a ‘sneak peak‘ of future posts of some of my favorite places for GREAT FOOD in the Phoenix area. Be sure to try these places while in town:
4410 N 40th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85018 (602) 840-7777
Only one location in Phoenix but worth seeking out! The mouthwatering aroma of fresh, hot pizza mingles with freshly brewed coffee as you step from your car into the small parking lot filling your senses with excitement and anticipation of great food in a fun place! (free valet parking in the back)
Calling themselves an ‘organic coffee/breakfast bar, café, pizzeria and a funky retail grocery’, La Grande Orange is “a testament to American cooking done really well” emphasizing the use of fresh, organic and seasonal ingredients, dishes are created each day. Artesian Bread, unique cakes, giant cookies and other intriguing dessert items (‘Old School’ or ‘Ooey Gooey Cupcakes’) are available from Tammy Coe Cakes and MJ Bread at La Grande Orange.
Go for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or just coffee and dessert but go with an appetite!
Their website says it all: “Pita Jungle offers an eclectic blend of fresh ingredients, creative energy and good times…discover the art of eating healthy.”
A delightful experience whether eating in or taking out. There are several locations in the Phoenix/Tucson area and LOTS of yummy choices –above and beyond pitas– on the menu, so you may have to visit several times, as I do, to try them all!
Check their website for locations, menu items, online or phone ordering..”

Fresh baked breads are the foundation for a unique menu of delicious breakfast items, sandwiches, soups, salads, pastas, and desserts – a full meal deal any time of the day!
My favorites are the Mediterranean Salad and the Hummus Plate–always a challenging decision but always a good one either way I go! Other items like Butternut Squash Ravioli, or Turkey Breast & Brie, Wildflower Almond Tuna, or Roasted Sweet Potato Sandwiches are superb! –Hungry yet?
Several locations in the Phoenix/Tucson area provide easy opportunity to eat here.
A full menu is on their website where they claim: “success comes down to three things – outstanding food, great service, and clean restaurants.” They surpass all three!
61016 S. 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85042 (602) 276-6360
Enjoy pleasant and peaceful dining experiences throughout the day: Breakfast on the patio at the Morning Glory Cafe; “Picnic” lunches of delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, and ‘made-from-scratch’ baked goods from The Farm Kitchen, or dinner of “seasons-inspired” handcrafted dishes at the upscale Quiessence Restaurant.
AND REMEMBER…

“a hip local hangout with a fresh vibe”
Latte Art is a specialty and here is a special ‘Shamrock’ Latte for my daughter-in-law’s St Patrick’s Day Birthday!
Visit either the Uptown or Downtown location for delicious fresh roasted daily coffee and baked goods – all done in-house! (Read my earlier post)
